Attention 7-12 students and parents:
Wake up, 7th–12th graders! Today is an asynchronous learning day, NOT a day off. Students must log in to Canvas and submit assignments during class periods to be marked present. Missing assignments = marked absent.

Wake up
Due to district-wide power and internet outages, all school facilities will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, October 29, 2026.

Here is what this closure means for your students:

Elementary Students (Grades K–6): No school and no assignments. Elementary students have the day off.

Secondary Students (Grades 7–12): Middle and high school students will complete a One-Day Emergency Asynchronous Learning Day from home to avoid adding make-up days to the school calendar.

Assignments: Teachers are pre-posting independent, offline tasks to Canvas.

Attendance: Turning in an assignment counts as being marked present in class for the day. Attendance will be recorded based on completion within the extended grace window.

Deadlines & Flexibility: We understand home power or internet may also be impacted. Deadlines on EXISTING WORK WILL BE extended, and students will have a grace period to turn in work once power/connectivity is fully restored. No student will be penalized for power-related delays.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we navigate these facility issues. We will keep you updated on our reopening status for Friday.

EMERGENCY NOTICE: Early Dismissal Today Due to Power & Generator Safety Concerns

Due to high winds earlier today, our school experienced recurring power outages. When we turned on the backup generator, safety concerns arose regarding its operation. Out of an abundance of caution, we decided to dismiss students and staff early today. We are hoping school resumes as normal tomorrow 10/29/2026.

We deeply appreciate everyone's teamwork, patience, and cooperation on such short notice to ensure our students' safety.

8:00 AM – School Doors Open: High school doors open promptly at 8:00 AM for all K-12 students who would like to eat breakfast and/or head to their first-period classes.

Prior to 8:00 AM – Building Closed: All exterior doors remain locked until 8:00 AM, and staff supervision is not available before this time.

For your child's safety and comfort, especially during cold or wet weather please plan your morning routine so students do not arrive prior to 8:00 AM, as they will need to wait outside.
