Kake City School District is pleased to announce that the annual KCSD Teacher Survey is now open. This survey provides an opportunity for families, students, staff, and community members to share their experiences and observations related to certified teachers in our district. Your feedback plays an important role in helping us understand what is working well and where additional support may be needed.
This survey is conducted in accordance with Alaska Statute AS 14.20.149 and the Kake Education Association (KEA) Agreement, both of which outline the public’s right to provide input as part of the educator evaluation process. While this feedback is one component of the evaluation system, only certified evaluators—those holding a Type B certificate or trained administrators under supervision of a Type B certified administrator—conduct formal evaluations.
KCSD is committed to maintaining the highest standards of privacy and confidentiality. All responses submitted through the survey are confidential, and individual submissions are viewed only by the Superintendent or a designated certified supervisor. Teachers do not receive individual response data; instead, they are provided with aggregated trend information so that no one respondent or small group can be identified. This includes protections for areas with low response numbers, such as feedback connected to specific academic groups like early readers or low readers.
To support accurate and ongoing feedback, the survey may be completed more than once during the survey window from December 1 through April 1. Participants may choose to include their name or email, or may respond entirely anonymously.
KCSD encourages all members of our community to take a few minutes to participate. Your input helps strengthen our classrooms, guide professional growth, and support positive outcomes for all students. A link to the survey and an accompanying FAQ can be found on our district website.
If you have specific concerns about a teacher or administrator, we also encourage you to reach out to them directly in addition to completing the survey.
